The Faculty for Agricultural and Environmental Sciences is one of 9 faculties at the University of Rostock which was founded in 1419.

Agricultural Sciences have a long tradition at the university and the Faculty of Agriculture was founded in 1942. Today the Faculty for Agricultural and Environmental Sciences consists of the following institutes:

  • Institute for Civil Engineering
  • Institute for Landuse
  • Institute for Management of Rural Areas
  • Institute for Productive Livestock Animal and Technology
  • Institute for Environmental Engineering

The dean and the vice dean are elected for a period of two years. They are supported by the faculty council.

20 professoral chairs, 66 scientists and 123 technical-administrative staff are directly supported by the faculty. In addition there are a considerable number of positions financed by third-party-funding.
