apl. Prof. Dr. Christine Struck

PD Dr. Christine Struck was appointed by the University of Rostock in 2017 as an Associate Professor of Plant Pathology. Her research focuses on fungal pathogens in arable crops. In recent years, she has also dealt with pests and their control. Currently, legumes in particular diseases and pests of lupins, are one main emphasis of her work as well as is oilseed rape with clubroot disease caused by the soil-borne pathogen Plasmodiophora brassicae. In teaching, she is involved in the courses of Agricultural Sciences and Sustainable Agricultural Systems.

Professor Struck studied Biology at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel and completed postgraduate studies in agricultural sciences (Plant Pathology and Plant Protection) at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen. She received her doctorate in agricultural sciences at the Institute of Plant Pathology and Plant Protection in Göttingen. She completed her habilitation in Phytopathology and Plant Physiology at the University of Konstanz on "Molecular Mechanisms of Biotrophy". Mrs. Struck is a research associate at the professorship of Crop Health.
