PilotLoop
The PilotLoops component aims to develop and promote innovative circular solutions in aquaculture through three cross-border pilot activities focused on testing, demonstration, and communication of advanced circular production approaches. The overall objective is to reduce waste generation and water consumption, valorise by-products, and thereby support the preservation of natural resources while minimizing environmental impacts.
The pilots combine experimental testing, in-depth analysis, and close cooperation with associated partners and industry stakeholders. By linking research activities with real commercial technologies, they enable an iterative exchange of data and solutions, allowing concepts to be validated from laboratory scale up to farm-scale applications.
In addition, the pilots will jointly develop standardized protocols to support wider application by industry stakeholders and to provide input for training, capacity-building, and dissemination activities within the project.
Activities:
- Development of three cross-border physical pilot systems
- Experimental testing and validation of results
- Demonstration of pilot activities
- Communication and dissemination of pilot outcomes
