Mixed Reality & 3D-Technology

Autostereoscopic Displays

These displays make it possible to display stereo 3D content without viewers having to wear special glasses. They are suitable for 3D modeling in CAD software, for viewing building models and for special applications in combination with new types of 3D input devices.

The following displays are currently available:

  • Looking Glass Portrait
  • zSpace Inspire with 3D-Stylus
  • Dimenco SR Pro 2

Head-Mounted Displays

Head-mounted displays have established themselves as helpful tools, especially in architectural visualization as well as in the field of professional training. They are used in the construction industry whenever the directly positioned view promises advantages over a classic screen - e.g. for fire safety assessments of planned buildings. Classic VR glasses are currently the main focus here. In the future, newer AR-capable devices will also find their way onto construction sites and into planning processes. The professorship currently owns the following devices:

  • Meta Quest Pro

DIY-Electronics

Various Arduino boards and associated electronics kits are available for creating and testing your own prototype display and interaction devices.
