Aims and Characteristics

The Master's degree programme Sustainable Agricultural Systems is dedicated to the resource-, environmentally- and climate-friendly production of food of plant and animal origin, renewable raw materials and animal feed. In addition, socio-economic aspects of sustainable agricultural production as well as scientific analyses of agro-ecosystems are considered within the scope of the study programme. The study programme places the acquisition of scientific competences in the foreground, without disregarding the application reference.

Graduates are able to reflect and work in a scientifically oriented manner in the area of conflict between agricultural production, ecology, economy, consumer and environmental protection, justify questions, develop hypotheses and test and implement solutions to problems. Through the communication of scientific contexts and on the basis of modern working methods students are enabled to find solutions for future-oriented complex tasks and to participate in the research, development and use of agricultural science approaches in agricultural production.
