Admission requirements

Admission to the Master's degree programme in Sustainable Agricultural Systems is subject to the following admission requirements in accordance with § 2 of the programme-specific examination and study regulations (SPSO):

  • Prospective students must have a Bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences, agricultural economics with at least 180 credit points or another equivalent degree. A degree in biology, landscape ecology, environmental sciences, equine sciences or horticultural sciences in particular counts as a degree programme with equivalent content.

  • Prospective students whose native language is not German must provide evidence of German language skills (level B2).

  • Prospective students must prove knowledge of English (level B2).

Admission for non-agricultural Bachelor's degree:
For prospective students with a non-agricultural Bachelor's degree, the Examination Committee may impose the condition that up to 12 credit points from the Bachelor's degree programme in Agricultural Sciences must still be completed by the end of the first year of study in order to thereby acquire basic agricultural knowledge. In particular, "Special Animal Nutrition, Animal Hygiene and Animal Health" and "Special Plant Production and Plant Breeding" are planned as modules.

Hint for internships

Prospective students and students who have not yet completed an internship are recommended to complete internships in institutions outside the university in order to learn job-related skills. Internships are to be carried out during the lecture-free period.
