Welcome on the
homepage of the Chair of Concrete Structures and Infrastructures Engineering. Concrete construction, with its buildings and components made of reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and masonry, is of central importance in civil engineering. The research activities of the professorship are dedicated to the development of suitable structural concepts, material-appropriate modelling and constructive implementation and production, the selection and combination of (traditional and/or new, innovative) materials and sustainable construction methods as well as safe and economical design.
Introduction
In the newly introduced Bachelor's degree programme in Civil Engineering, students are taught the basics of structural engineering and construction as well as an introduction to solid construction. In the subsequent Master's programme, students specialise in selected aspects of solid construction.
The professorship is one of four civil engineering professorships to be established at the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences as part of the implementation of the concept for cross-location engineering education in the areas of construction, landscape and environment BLU-Konzeptes .
