The professorship is currently developing its laboratory with a focus on static and cyclic testing of anchorages in concrete and masonry, as well as real-time, adjustable non-linear load histories on structural components, including impact testing. The laboratory is equipped with a synchronized digital image correlation system and fibre-optic strain measurement technology.

In collaboration with the Chair of AI in Sustainable Construction, the laboratory also includes a construction robotics sandbox. All experimental work is supported by advanced non-linear finite element analyses, implemented within parameterized and probabilistic simulation workflows.

These analytical modeling capabilities are further complemented by state-of-the-art data-driven approaches, including machine learning, image recognition, and large language AI models.
