sMon - Trend analysis of biodiversity data in Germany

Project start:01.02.2017

Principal Investigators:

Despite the high status of biodiversity in society, Germany lacks a strict national concept for recording and evaluating changes in species richness. However, there are many datasets that qualify for these much-needed analyses. The aim of the sMon working group is to bring together exemplary data sets for selected taxa from different federal states and to explore the possibilities for analyzing these heterogeneous data types. From the evaluation of the existing data, recording programs and analysis methods, consequences for the systematic data recording and future monitoring programs in Germany should be derived. One focus is on the adaptation and further development of analysis methods.
