Nele Bettels started in April 2025 as a PhD student at at chair of Landscape Ecology and Site Ecology for the project WETSCAPES2.0. She explores rewetted peatlands' impact on non-forest vegetation, vegetation classification, and mesoclimate, contributing to WETSCAPES2.0 by mapping groundwater, evapotranspiration, heat flux, and biodiversity.
