  • 1985-1990: Study of agricultural sciences, University of Rostock, diploma thesis in crop husbandry
  • 1990-1991: Research associate at the Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Institute of Plant Breeding Gülzow
  • 1992-1999: Research associate at the State Research Institute of Agriculture and Fishery Mecklenburg-Vorpommern within the scope of projects dealing with renewable resources funded by the German Ministry of Agriculture and the Agency of Renewable Resources
  • 1998: PhD in agricultural sciences (Dr. agr.), University of Rostock, thesis in crop husbandry
  • 1999-2002: Research within the scope of the EU funded project "Diversification with Crambe", responsible for the sub-projects "Environmental friendly techniques of nitrogen and sulphur fertilization" and "Economic analysis" in cooperation with the ISCI Bologna, I, PRI Wageningen, NL, ENESAD Djion, F and the Long Ashton Research Station, GB
  • since 2003: Head of the experimental station at the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at Rostock University
