IMP-EGH aims to strengthen institutional capacities in the fields of renewable energy and green hydrogen technologies, with a particular focus on supporting the energy transition and sustainable development between the continents Europe and Africa. This dual-degree programme is divided into six (06) tracks, hosted by four West African universities in cooperation with German universities and research institutions. The Professorship of Material and Energy Valorisation of Biogenous Residues and the Professorship of Waste and Resource Management at the University of Rostock are responsible for the coordination and scientific management of the track Bioenergy/Biofuels and Green Hydrogen Technology in collaboration with the University of Lomé.
The University of Rostock implements this project through coordination, teaching, hosting students for one year, thesis supervision, scientific dissemination, and exposing students to real world applications through industrial collaborations. Through this effective implementation of the programme, the University of Rostock demonstrates its strong commitment to capacity building, academic excellence, and international cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and green hydrogen.
