Welcome!
The professorship of Animal Nutrition and Nutritional Physiology covers the comprehensive field of nutrition for farm animals in research and teaching, including feed science, nutritional physiology, and dietetics.
The research focus of the professorship is on developing innovative solutions for resource-efficient and animal-friendly nutrition for farm animals and thus on developing practice-oriented feeding strategies for implementing sustainable animal nutrition.
As part of the teaching activities at the professorship, students in bachelor's and master's programs learn about practical aspects of feed science, nutrition, and nutritional physiology of various farm animal species, as well as feeding mistakes and dietary advice.
In connection with the promotion of young scientists, the professorship supervises and supports students and doctoral candidates in the implementation and execution of research projects and the preparation of scientific papers. There is also the possibility of further training to become a specialist veterinarian for animal nutrition and dietetics.
